Manali

Overview

About Manali

Manali is a popular Himalayan hill town in Himachal Pradesh, set along the Beas river at the northern end of the Kullu Valley. Surrounded by cedar forests, apple orchards and snow-capped peaks, it serves as the gateway to Solang Valley, Rohtang Pass and the Atal Tunnel, and is a major hub for adventure sports including skiing, paragliding, river rafting and trekking. Old Manali retains a bohemian, cafe-lined charm distinct from the busier main town, and nearby Kasol and the Parvati Valley draw backpackers with their riverside trails. A cool climate year-round and snowfall in winter make Manali one of North India's most visited hill destinations.
