Overview
The Char Dham Yatra is an 8-day pilgrimage covering Uttarakhand's four most sacred Himalayan shrines - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath - traditionally visited in that order. The journey begins with Ganga Aarti at Haridwar, then treks or pony rides to the source shrines of Yamunotri and Gangotri, followed by Kedarnath, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, reachable by trek or optional helicopter. The circuit concludes at Badrinath, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, set dramatically against the Neelkanth peak. With overnight stays at each stage, an AC vehicle for the full circuit and support for pony/palki arrangements, this package is designed for devotees seeking a well-organised, comfortable pilgrimage through some of Hinduism's holiest and most remote sites.

Itinerary
Arrive in Haridwar or Dehradun, where our representative will receive you and transfer you to your hotel. After check-in and rest, head to Har Ki Pauri ghat in the evening to witness the Ganga Aarti, one of the most revered evening rituals in India, where priests offer flames to the river amid chanting and bells as thousands of devotees gather on the steps. This sets a devotional tone for the pilgrimage ahead. Return to the hotel for dinner and an early night, as the Yatra begins in earnest the following morning.
After an early breakfast, begin the scenic drive toward Barkot, the base for visiting Yamunotri, winding through the Himalayan foothills along the Yamuna valley with views of terraced fields and small hill villages. Check in to your hotel/guesthouse on arrival and rest ahead of the trek to the shrine the next morning. The drive offers the first real glimpse of the high Himalayan terrain that the rest of the Yatra will traverse.
Drive from Barkot to Janki Chatti, the trailhead for Yamunotri, then undertake the roughly 5-6 km trek (on foot, pony, or palki/doli for those unable to walk) to Yamunotri temple, the source shrine of the Yamuna river, set amid steaming hot springs and dramatic mountain scenery. After darshan (prayers) at the temple, descend back to Janki Chatti and drive back to Barkot for overnight stay, having completed the first of the four sacred shrines.
Check out after breakfast and drive toward Uttarkashi, an important pilgrim town on the way to Gangotri, passing through pine-forested valleys along the Bhagirathi river. Check in to your hotel, visit the ancient Vishwanath Temple in Uttarkashi town if time permits, and rest ahead of the drive to Gangotri the next day.
Drive from Uttarkashi to Gangotri, the source shrine of the holy river Ganges, set against a backdrop of snow peaks and pine forests. Offer prayers at the Gangotri temple, and if conditions permit, take a short walk along the riverbank near the point where the Bhagirathi emerges. Afterward, begin the return drive toward Guptkashi (the base for Kedarnath), a long but scenic drive through changing Himalayan landscapes, arriving by evening for overnight stay.
Early morning, drive from Guptkashi to Sonprayag and then Gaurikund, the starting point for the Kedarnath trek. From here, undertake the approximately 16-18 km trek (on foot, pony, palki, or optional helicopter service subject to availability and weather) to Kedarnath temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva, set at 11,755 ft amid a dramatic amphitheatre of snow peaks. After darshan, stay overnight in guesthouse accommodation near the shrine, taking in the rare experience of a Himalayan temple town after the day-trippers have descended.
After an early darshan at Kedarnath temple, descend the trek route back to Gaurikund and drive to Joshimath via Rudraprayag, a long but picturesque drive following the confluence of Himalayan rivers. Check in for an overnight stay in Joshimath or continue toward Badrinath depending on daylight and road conditions, with an evening temple darshan at Badrinath if time allows, dedicated to Lord Vishnu and set dramatically against the Neelkanth peak.
Rise early for a final morning darshan at the Badrinath temple, taking in the sacred Tapt Kund hot springs nearby before offering prayers. After breakfast, begin the long drive back toward Haridwar, Dehradun or Rishikesh depending on your onward travel, arriving by evening for departure, having completed all four sacred shrines of the Char Dham Yatra - a journey of considerable spiritual significance through some of the Himalayas' most remote and revered sites.
